Earthquake-Proof Canning Jar Storage


In the 1990’s, Stan came up with this idea to store quart canning jars so they won’t break in an earthquake. Each box holds 12.

This box fits perfectly


Here is the lattice by itself.


Here is how he cut it. He cut the width of each slot to be the same as the thickness of the styrofoam and the length and width of the box, respectively.


Here is a box with 12 empty canning jars. I decided to store them upside down because they are going in the garage for now and this will help prevent spiders from crawling in.
