Hiking with Honey Bears

by

Hey…I’ve been using the “bears” you sent and have discovered and interesting “hiking” use for them.  When I’m “out” in the field for an extended period of time – not a day trip – it’s becoming apparent to me that the Go Honey pouches might not be best.  One of those “bears” represents at least 3 Go Honey pouches.  Anyway, those bear pouches make for an excellent water flask once the honey is all gone.  The experiment I ran with the one I finished recently was to fill it with a small amount of hot water.  I swirl that around a bit to liquefy the remaining honey.  Once it’s cool…I drink it (waste not want not).  What I discovered is I can then fill the empty bottle with water and it remains sealed with the cap on.  That works well for me because I don’t drink “water” when I’m hiking.  I bring along powered Gatorade and drink that instead.  “Water” is used for cooking (if you can call it that) and coffee.  Empty bear pouches can also now be a water flask.  Nothing better than items in your pack performing more than one function.

I’ll probably be placing another bear order soon.  I’ll give you a heads up when I do.

Thanks again…
